The days daze
Writing in the silence of the afternoon. The house is still, just Uma and myself and she is resting quietly.
The breeze hasn’t let up since I can remember today and the wind chimes have been a gentle accompaniment throughout.
The heat spell of recent memory is broken and the air has been cool.
Sleep was again at odds last night. Fortunately I was able to utilize this for some meditation before the 7 o’clock hour when what appears to be some circadian rhythm attempts to drive my mind into slumber during the moments of our household sitting practice.
The day has been a bit of a blur in that sense. I was able to rest a while during wound care, the backside looking much better, but not quite sleep. I tried again for a few more moments after getting dressed, but no go, and it was time to get up and meet the pest inspector anyway.
Good news on that front, the professional could find no evidence of residual infestation which means we can start reassembling the house a bit.
As I may have mentioned to my current fog, the day has been a bit of a blur. I was able to spend some time on the caregiving website in search of new care partners, and have managed to put the word out with a few friends for possible leads. One delightful young woman on the care site whom I interviewed some months ago even offered to put the word out in her network. Our initial conversations suggested a good fit, but eventually geography broke the deal.
David stopped by briefly, which reminds me to put a note on the calendar that we’ll all be doing dinner again on Tuesday evening.
Our chat was brief as it was time to turn my attention to the course of Integral Polarity Practice that I have been graced to join. I hadn’t realized quite how tired I was until we got into the depths of the meditation and I could feel that kaleidoscopic inner sensation unfolding I remember from childhood on those evenings when the body was ready to rest, but the heart insisted on playing just a little longer in the late northern summer day…
Making my way into the evening today… Email handled, projects reviewed, miscellaneous tasks uploaded and complete, clutter cleared and the work organized for tomorrow.
God gets to know things, we just get to ask questions…
